Rooms Division Manager

Responsible for the management and coordination of all Rooms area and Front Office departments and driving a highly engaged team. Plans, develops, implements and valuates the quality of property’s guest rooms. Strives to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction and maximize the financial performance of the department. Ensures that standards and procedures are being followed.

Lead and manage the Front Office and Housekeeping department operations to:

  • Provide over-sight, hands-on leadership, and guidance of resort daily operations
  • Ensuring operations of resort are supportive of the Company’s vision and objectives.
  • Ensure rooms revenue generations is maximized through upselling and accurate account processing.
  • Ensure financial traction, cash, credit cards, cash cards and room charges have appropriate systems and procedure in place to minimize loss, audit exceptions, and create greater efficiencies and effectiveness.
  • Positively contribute to the resort’s leadership team, resort operations, our guest experience and workplace culture through displaying integrity, accountability, commitment, teamwork and respect.
  • Monitor room status daily in Room-Master, ensuring accuracy maintained in all room status categories, including out of order rooms/bures
  • Ensure guest luggage is managed within highest levels of safety, security and protection against damage or loss at all times
  • Ensure that a customer focus underpins all activities undertaken by front office team members within the Front Office and wider hotel/resort environment.
  • Escalate guest or operational issues to the Resort Manager if the matter escalates out of control or is outside your scope of authority
  • Provide regular updates to the Resort Manager/General Manager on operational performance, issues and systems.
  • Ensure Front Office and Housekeeping SOPs are effective, in place, reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Ensure the safety and security of company personnel, property, and guests.
  • Monitor a register and check list for all Housekeeping/Laundry equipment and machines.

What are we after:

  • Excellent English communication skills, written and oral
  • Preferably, tertiary qualified with previous Front Office and Housekeeping senior leadership experience in a busy, medium, or large size resort or hotel, with demonstrated leadership experience
  • Good working knowledge of Room-master
  • Demonstrated skills in operational leadership, problem solving, coaching, training, communication, and delivery.
  • First Aid/CPR qualification is an advantage
